If one santa isn’t enough then you will love the fun and excitement of Aviemore’s santa run where 100s of folk don Santa Outfits for a fun run through Aviemore. If you fancy really getting involved in the fun you can join the event for 1mile or 5k. It doesn’t matter if you run, jog, walk or are pushed, as long as you have fun! Everyone will be rewarded with a festive medal, a mince pie and an activity bag for the children. Saturday 14th Dec. More info
Make friends with Reindeer
You don’t have to go all the way to the North Pole to meet Reindeer - The Cairngorms is home to a wonderful herd of our own living on a hill outside Aviemore. On December weekends leading up to Christmas, they run “Christmas Fun” events with extra crafting activities, and Santa visiting from 12pm – 3pm. More info
See actual polar bears
Ok so we have Santa and Reindeer covered but did you know we also have our Polar Bears in the Cairngorms at the Highland Wildlife Park. The park has two adult males called Walker and Arktos, a female called Victoria and a young male called Hamish. Hamish was the first polar bear born in UK for 25 years. They also have Wolve, Tigers and native Wild Cats. More info
